Kenthen Thomas (Qelmucw), a Secwépemc storyteller and educator

committed to uplifting future generations through story and ancestral teachings, and Dr. Tabitha Robin (Plenary Speaker), a Métis and Cree scholar whose work explores traditional Cree food practices and Indigenous land-based knowledge systems.

Kenthen Thomas (Qelmucw) is Secwepemc from Salmon Arm, with roots in the Syilx Nation. A storyteller, educator, and community leader, he shares traditional Secwepemc stories across Western Canada and internationally, encourages youth to trust their roots, and works to integrate Indigenous knowledge into education and community events.

Dr. Tabitha Robin is a mixed ancestry Métis and Cree (St. Peter’s) researcher, educator, and writer. She is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems at the University of British Columbia, and spends much of her time learning about traditional Cree food practices.
